Q
Are you making any profit from Reign of the Fallen?
A
Not at all. All things Star Wars are the property of Lucasfilm and it would be illegal for us to profit from their use.

Q
Why Star Wars?
A
I wanted to make a Samurai style film that pushed the boundaries of what could be accomplished in film production within a small budget, but I didn't want to be limited by locations and what not. Since Star Wars is largely a samaurai movie in space, it seemed like a natural choice.

Q
It looks like you went to Tunisia, or at least the Mojave to shoot this. Where did you shoot the exteriors?
A
Believe it or not, all the exteriors were shot at a nifty little place we discovered in New Jersey.

Q
When will the film be complete?
A
The movie was completed in mid-October, and now it's just a matter of time before the DVD's are ready for the first 100 people who requested them.

Q
How long is the movie?
A
The final cut clocks in at just under an hour. It was tempting to put a little more into the story to get it to feature length, but the current cut is tight and is the preferred version.

Q
Will the movie be released online?
A
We will definitely be releasing it online. Where it is hosted is another question. There is also a chance of bittorrent version of the DVD being released. Check back here for updates on that.

Q
It looks like a "real movie". What did you shoot it on?
A
To help draw an audience in and make the drama work, I wanted as few distractions as possible. Since HD video was not an option at the time, I at least wanted 24 frame per second visuals, which are what people are used to watching when they see a movie, so we chose the Panasonic DVX-100 for its great film-like picture. Other than that, its just lots of hard work and lighting.

Q
Do you have any projects in store next?
A
Definitely. Hopefully by next year we'll have a feature film in the works. Stay tuned for updates.
